sUAS Mission Pilot - UASMP

Dates: 18 July – 20 July 2022

Scope: Maximum of 20 students

Training location: Hancock Field, Syracuse NY - Proof of vaccination is required. 

Course Description: Lecture and training to the prospective UAS pilot to initiate them to the uses of drone flying in the CAP. Working with other members/agencies and to prepare the student to pass the online CAPR 70-1U and the Form 5U Annual Examination.

The email should include the course you signed up for and when you would like to arrive and depart. Your reservation will be made for you and you will be informed of where you are assigned on check in to the school. The rates are currently 65 to 72 dollars a night. 

Meals: At your own expense. Most of the hotel rooms have a refrigerator, storage space and microwave. There are several local and franchise establishments 2 miles off base.

Prerequisites: All CAP sUAS Mission Pilots must hold a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Remote Pilot Certificate, be medically capable of safely operating the aircraft and be current in accordance with the requirements of 14 CFR Part 107.
